What Sunspot Log stores

Sunspot Log keeps your settings on your own device, in your browser’s local storage: your home location (latitude and longitude, rounded), your skin type, and the state of any sun-session timer you start. There are no accounts, and this information is not sent to our servers or saved in a database.

You can remove it at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings.

What is sent to other services

When you search for a town or city, the text you type is sent to the Open-Meteo geocoding service to find matching places. If you use “locate me”, your browser asks for your permission first, and the position is used to set your home location.

Advertising and logs

We don’t sell your information or use it for advertising. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability.

Health note

Burn-time and sun-exposure figures are estimates for general guidance, not medical advice.
